Mountain's Gate is home to the Company of The Fian! The ancient Fian were renowned for their skills, not just as warriors in the many arts and sciences of warfare, or for their stamina and ability --but for their skills at poetry and expression, crafts and guile, humor and song.  No matter how far they'd marched, no Fian warrior lay down his head without bathing, plaiting his hair and setting up camp to prepare a hearty fare for his friends.   They were noble through their actions and deeds, not by birth or title. We, the Fian of Mountain's Gate, propose a return to this ancient tradition.  Our warriors are primarily unbelted, with an intense desire to serve the Kingdom of the West with their independence intact.  We welcome creative spirits who wish to gather under a banner and strive to prove their mettle beyond blood and title.  The   Company of the Fian is open to any who seek a balanced approach to their life in the Current Middle Ages. Our Motto is:  Well Met, Well Fought, Well Lived. On the battlefield, we will strive for the highest levels of achievement and chivalry.   Off the field, in hospitality and brotherhood, no one will be turned away from our fires.  And when the mundane world must take precedence, we will support each other's efforts to balance work and pleasure. The Fian will be recognized under their Mountains Gate banner and beyond by our colors and our baldric and earned medallions for various skills and achievements within the Company. United in battle and purpose, the Company will strive to bring glory and honor to themselves and the Current Middle Ages, the Principalities we live within and the Kingdom of the West that we hold so dear.
